Tap Plant Scan, point the camera at the plant and take a photo, or pick an existing photo from your gallery. Use the Plants mode to identify a plant and the Diagnose mode to check a sick or damaged plant. Frame the whole plant for identification, and get close to the affected leaves for diagnosis.
Results are produced by AI and can be inaccurate, especially with blurry photos, unusual lighting, or when several plants are in frame. Try again with a sharper, well-lit photo of a single plant. Never eat, apply or otherwise use a plant based only on the app's identification — misidentifying a plant can be dangerous. Always confirm with a reliable source.
After a scan, tap Add plant to my garden on the result screen. You can also add one manually from the My Garden tab using the + button. You can set a region/category, a watering interval and a reminder time.
Check that notifications are enabled for the app: on iPhone/iPad go to Settings → Notifications → AI Plant Identifier - Botanic; on Android go to Settings → Apps → AI Plant Identifier - Botanic → Notifications. Also make sure each plant has a watering interval and a reminder time set in its detail screen.
Location is optional. If you allow it, the app uses an approximate position — roughly town level, rounded to about one kilometre before it is saved — to show local weather and to adjust care advice to your conditions. Your exact location is never requested or stored. If you deny permission, the app falls back to a default region and everything else keeps working. You can change this at any time in your device settings.
Photos are stored on your device. When you run a scan, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection for AI analysis and is not kept on our servers afterwards. Only the text result of the scan is saved to your account.
To delete a plant, open it from My Garden and use the delete button in the top bar.
To delete your AI Plant Identifier - Botanic account, open the app, tap Settings (the gear icon at the right of the bottom navigation bar), then choose Delete Account and confirm. You can also email tgsmobileapps@gmail.com from your registered address and we will delete the account for you.
What is deleted: your account and sign-in credentials, your profile (name and email address), your saved plants, watering and fertilising records, growth photos and notes, your scan history, and your stored approximate location. Plant photos held on your device are removed together with the app's data when you uninstall the app.
What is kept: purchase and subscription records that we are required to retain for accounting and tax purposes, and anonymous aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you.
When: deletion happens immediately. Encrypted infrastructure backups may still contain the data for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
Because Botanic syncs your plants to the cloud, uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play and must be cancelled there separately — deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
Premium removes the daily limits on scanning and expert chat and unlocks the AR tools, daily AI care notes and weather-aware care planning. New users get a free trial period; you can see the current plans, trial length and prices on the subscription screen inside the app, since these vary by country. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged.
On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, find AI Plant Identifier - Botanic, and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android: Open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Make sure you are signed in with the same account you used when purchasing, then open the subscription screen and use Restore purchases. If it still doesn't activate, email us with the store receipt and we will sort it out.
